Washington Square Park
No trip to Greenwich Village is complete without visiting Washington Square Park.
This park serves as the cultural center and heart of the Village. People of all sorts come to visit, including performing musicians, university students, chess players carrying on the tradition of Bobby Fischer, and even regular folks. Many guests use the park to simply relax and watch the world go by.
Two architectural attractions reside
at the park: The Washington Square Fountain, which serves as the park's centerpiece, and the Washington Arch, a beautifully crafted arch built to commemorate the centennial of President Washington’s inauguration.
The Stonewall Inn

While it has been many things over the years, The Stonewall Inn is best known as the birthplace of the modern struggle for LGBTQ rights. In 1969, the inn was the site of a series of riots that sparked the LGBT movement. Today, the bar stands as a welcoming place for any adult to come and enjoy themselves.
Across the street stands the Stonewall National Monument, which commemorates those fighting for civil rights and equality.
When it comes to comedy, there simply isn’t a better place to go in the Village than Comedy Cellar.
This famed brick-walled venue regularly hosts high-caliber comedians, and periodically showcases world-famous personalities such as Jerry Seinfield and Dave Chappelle. With multiple shows every night, you are sure to have an unforgettable experience.
The cellar also has a reputation for serving great food and drinks, pairing it with exceptional service to round out your evening.
If you are looking to catch an Off-Broadway performance, stop by the Cherry Lane Theatre, which is the oldest continuously running Off-Broadway theater in NYC.
For much of the 20th century, The Cherry Lane Theatre showcased some of the greatest American talent in drama, from F. Scott Fitzgerald to David Mamet. No matter what production you see performed at this venue, you are sure to experience some of the best theater that NYC has to offer.
Fans of the incredibly popular “Friends” will instantly recognize the iconic apartment building that plays an integral role in the show.

Another famous TV locale is Carrie Bradshaw’s Apartment building, as shown in season 3 to the finale. Be sure to respect the people currently living there and do not trespass, which includes going up the staircase.
